Iowa State’s eighth annual Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression on April 15 featured 150 students who gave research presentations and exhibited artwork on topics ranging from asteroid deflection to zebrafish.
“Undergraduates from all majors have the opportunity to share their research through academic conference-style oral presentation sessions,” Dana Schumacher, the University Honor Program’s assistant director for scholarship and research, said prior to the event.
She also said this year’s symposium was the largest and most varied yet, with more than 100 research presentations in addition to a writers’ forum and an art exhibit.
The 60 LAS students represented 21 college majors. Eleven LAS faculty members served as session moderators.
