Get involved with United Way’s Day of Caring on Sept. 11

The 2026 United Way campaign kicks off on Friday, Sept. 11, with the annual United Way Day of Caring, a community-wide day of volunteerism and service.
This year, volunteers from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will work together to organize donated merchandise at Overflow Thrift Store, 919 E. Lincoln Way in Ames. The shift runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
If you would like to participate in the Day of Caring, email Paula Van Brocklin by the end of the day on Wednesday, July 29. In your email, please indicate your preferred T-shirt size and your campus location for T-shirt deliveries. Shirts will be delivered to you on campus prior to the Day of Caring.
