  • Needing time and space to write that article or book manuscript?
  • Looking for a quiet place to work on that grant proposal?
  • Wanting to network with colleagues while also furthering your scholarship?

Join a CEAH Writing Accountability Group!

What is it?

These in-person writing groups are open to ISU faculty who are working on writing-intensive projects related to the arts, design, and humanities.
Writing groups consist of approximately 6 members who are each committed to participating in at least 8 of their group’s 11 weekly writing sessions. Each group will be facilitated by CEAH interim Director, Sarah R. Kyle.

How does it work?

Groups meet once a week for a two-hour session held at the CEAH Space in ISU’s Parks Library (084). Each session begins with a 15-minute check-in during which members share their writing goals for that session. Then each member selects one of the CEAH’s secluded writing areas and writes in silence for an hour and a half. Our quiet, low-distraction room offers a range of writing areas, including office desks, a conference table, and even a few standing desks. After an hour and a half of solo writing, members briefly regroup to share their session progress and to set goals for the next one.
It’s that simple!

These groups will meet at the following times.

  • Group 1: Meets on Wednesdays, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, February 4 to April 22.
  • Group 2:  Meets on Thursdays, 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM, February 5 to April 23.

    Location:
ISU Parks Library, Room 084. (Coffee and tea will be available.)

Deadline: January 30th, 5 PM.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Space is limited, so sign up fast! Contact ceah@iastate.edu with questions.
