The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences proudly celebrated the eighth annual LAS Week from Monday, March 31, to Friday, April 4, 2025. Sponsored by Kingland Systems, the week featured more than 28 events across campus, showcasing the vibrant spirit and diverse offerings of the college.
This year, LAS department chairs launched the first-ever LAS Week 5K Run, starting at Catt Hall, as a prelude to the annual Kickoff Breakfast. The excitement continued with yearly events like the Start Something LAS Academy Sharkuterie Connections, LAS Study Abroad Stories, and the Physics Club’s LN2 Ice Cream and Goop, where students enjoyed liquid nitrogen-crafted ice cream.
Fresh, new LAS Week events brought new excitement to campus. The Department of English’s Blind Date with a Book invited students to uncover literary surprises, while the Department of World Languages and Cultures introduced Yoga in French, a creative fusion of relaxation and language immersion.
The week concluded with two fantastic events! The Society of Chemistry Undergraduate Majors (S.C.U.M.) mesmerized audiences at Alchemy & Elements: A Renaissance Revival, and the Air Force ROTC continue their time-honored tradition with the Flag Folding Ceremony on central campus.
