Mark your calendars! United Way Day of Caring is Sept. 13

Author: Paula Van Brocklin

The 2024 United Way campaign kicks off on Friday, Sept. 13, with the annual United Way Day of Caring, a community-wide day of volunteerism and service.

This year, volunteers from LAS will work together to spruce up the inside of the Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance home at 613 Clark Ave. in Ames. Tasks will include light and deep cleaning of various rooms, minimal repair work, some painting, and reorganization of common areas. Volunteers are not required to bring any special tools or equipment, but gloves are always a good idea. The shift runs from 9 a.m. to noon.

If you would like to participate in the Day of Caring, email Paula Van Brocklin by the end of the day on Monday, Sept. 9. In your email, please indicate your preferred T-shirt size. Shirts will be delivered to you on campus by Sept. 12.

Look for more information soon about how you can donate to this year’s United Way campaign!
