Two of the twelve women honored in the 2024 Women Impacting ISU calendar are members of the LAS community. Congratulations to Beate Schmittmann, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Mia Kawamitsu, a senior in journalism and mass communication and international studies.
The calendar recognizes women on campus whose leadership has made an impact on the university. Each year, a committee of students, faculty and staff – including past calendar honorees – evaluates nominations to select the final honorees.
The 2024 calendar will be officially unveiled during a reception recognizing the honorees on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union. The program will begin at 4 p.m. and will be livestreamed at https://go.iastate.edu/NU0PEI. After the program, copies of the calendar will be distributed for free. The event is free and open to the public.
