Your United Way donations support students

For most of us, when we get hungry at work, we simply reach for a snack in our desk drawer or walk to the nearest vending machine and select a sweet or salty delight. But for some, quick and easy access to food is not possible, even for some Iowa State students.
United Way supports The SHOP
Iowa State’s student-run food pantry, The SHOP, housed at 1306 Beyer Hall, supported 3,961 visits during the 2021-22 academic year. In fall 2021, Iowa State students experiencing low to very low food security increased to over 31%.
The SHOP receives funds and donations from United Way’s annual LIVE UNITED Food Drive. By donating to the 2023 LAS United Way fundraising campaign, your dollars can help assist food-insecure students right here on campus.
Thank you!
Thank you to all LAS faculty and staff who have already donated to this year’s campaign. So far, we have reached 40% of our $35,000 goal. That is phenomenal! If you haven’t donated yet and would like to, you may make a pledge using Workday or through a secure card transaction on the United Way page. Donations will be accepted through the end of October.
A small token of appreciation
Members of the LAS community who donate to United Way could win one of three $25 gift cards to either Target, HyVee, or Fareway! After donating, simply enter your name and email address into this Qualtrics survey. The deadline to get your name in the drawing is Wednesday, Oct. 18. The three gift card winners will be notified via email. Good luck!
