University Student Counseling offers RESPOND training on July 7, 12

Author: Contributor

RESPOND is an 8-hour training offered through University Student Counseling Services that empowers individuals to offer effective mental-health support and useful referrals to a student or colleague. The next trainings will be held on July 7 and July 12.

Additional RESPOND trainings will be offered throughout the year. Please register here.

The course provides a basic overview of symptoms often associated with mental health problems and offers an action plan to help you RESPOND effectively. The training will address campus policies such as FERPA, as well as mental health resources.

The trainings are for Iowa State University faculty, staff and administrators who wish to learn more about how to RESPOND to students or colleagues who are in distress. (Graduate and undergraduate students who work in student-assistance roles have also attended these trainings.)

RESPOND is free to Iowa State students and employees and is facilitated in partnership with ISU Wellbeing and Student Wellness.
