Congratulate our graduates!

Author: Amy Juhnke

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences needs your help to celebrate our spring and summer LAS graduates! And it only takes one minute.

We are collecting brief messages to be displayed on the Hilton video board at the LAS Convocation in Hilton Coliseum on Friday, May 13 at 7:00 PM.

Please consider submitting a message to celebrate our LAS graduates during this special college event. Multiple messages from departments/units are welcome!

Send a message (or messages) here: https://go.iastate.edu/6GWMFQ

Your message could…

  • Congratulate students in your department
  • Wish a student good luck in their future endeavors
  • Tell a group of students that you’re proud of them
  • Provide the class of 2022 with a piece of advice
  • Thank ambassadors, peer mentors or student leaders in your department
  • Share something encouraging

Contact Erin Halverson (erinh1@iastate.edu) if you have any questions (or need help brainstorming what to say!)

What is LAS Convocation?

LAS Convocation is a separate event from the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14. Convocation only includes students from the LAS college and offers students and their guests a more personalized celebration of their achievement. The LAS Convocation will include greetings from the Dean of the college, a student speaker, and individual recognition of graduating students in attendance. Students will cross the stage as their names and a personal quote are read, and they will be recognized by the Dean and a faculty representative from their department. We estimate the event will last no longer than 90 minutes.
All are welcome to celebrate spring and summer 2022 graduates at the LAS Convocation ceremony on Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum.
