Faculty who mentor undergraduates on their research teams are encouraged to inform their students about Research in the Capitol (RIC). Featuring undergraduate research from Iowa’s Regent Universities, this year’s event will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 in Des Moines.
Fifteen research projects from Iowa State will be selected. Students will have the opportunity to present their research to an audience of legislators, reporters and university administrators. Undergraduate researchers from the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa will present research projects as well.
RIC Abstract submissions can be filled out online and are due by Tuesday, Jan. 25.
Applications may be submitted by individuals or small groups. Submissions are evaluated by topic, relevance to legislative interests, and geographic representation.
All undergraduate students are eligible and encouraged to apply for RIC.
Students and their research mentors may direct questions to Svitlana Zbarska via email.
