The Iowa State Conference on Civility and Deliberative Democracy is a 2-day conference that is organized by the Carrie Chapman Catt Center.

October 12

The 2-day conference kicks off with a keynote address delivered by John Carson, the founder and managing partner of Trajectory Energy Partners. The keynote begins at 7:00 p.m. in Great Hall in the Memorial Union.

This event is free and open to the public.

October 13

The second day of the conference features the Deliberative Democracy Workshop, which runs from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Memorial Union Sun Room.

Conference participants will discuss U.S. energy choices and practice civil skills of long-form deliberative democracy.
