Update 6/16/2021: P&S Council holds its councilor election each March – but there can be a need for new councilors any time of year as vacancies arise – and substitutes are often called on when a regular council member cannot attend a general meeting. P&S employees can add their name to the list of potential meeting substitutes or if they are interested in knowing when a council vacancy arises, simply email the Representation Committee at pands-r@iastate.edu. Presently, there are no vacancies for the 2021-2022 P&S Council.
The Professional and Scientific Council is soliciting candidates and nominations to fill a vacancy for an Academic Affairs Division representative.
Interested candidates are asked to send an inquiring email at their earliest convenience.
The appointed representative shall serve a one year term from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
They shall have the same duties and responsibilities of an elected representative:
Attend regular meetings of the Council;
Serve on a standing committee and actively contribute to the work of the committee;
Provide information regarding Council activities to employees in their area of representation;
With consent, serve on an ad hoc committee or university councils or similar organizations; and
With consent, represent the Council at other meetings or events.
Nominations are also acceptable. Nominees will be contacted to inquire their interest and approval.
