OVPR Announces COVID-19 Research Seed Grant Program

CATEGORIES: Announcements

Iowa State University’s Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is currently accepting applications for a new research seed funding program dedicated to addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 Research Seed Grant program (CRSG) is designed to encourage faculty in all academic disciplines to apply their expertise to an aspect of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will support the initial stages of high-risk, high-reward projects that have an interdisciplinary focus and strong potential for future external funding. CRSG projects are expected to build new teams to pursue innovative, ambitious, interdisciplinary research programs to address the COVID-19 crisis.

COVID-19 research seed funding is planned for five teams to pursue projects rapidly for up to six months, with up to $15,000 available per team over the project period. Full-time faculty in tenure-eligible, term research, or clinician appointments from any discipline may apply for the CRSG.

The deadline for applications is May 29, 2020. The selection process will be led by the OVPR with representatives from all colleges. Funding will start in early June. More information about the application, review, and award process can be found here.
