K.L. Cook publishes three books in three different genres

CATEGORIES: Announcements

K. L. Cook, professor in the Department of English and co-coordinator of ISU’s MFA Program in Creative Writing & Environment, recently published three books in three different genres (essays, stories, and poems) in a rare triple publication event.

“Marrying Kind,” a collection of linked stories examining the people, places, and vocations we wed ourselves to, is Cook’s fourth book of fiction and third collection of linked stories.

“Lost Soliloquies”, Cook’s debut collection of poems, consists primarily of dramatic
monologues, many in the voices of historical figures such as Clyde Barrow and Frank Lloyd Wright.

“The Art of Disobedience”, a collection of essays exploring literary influence and the art and craft of fiction, draws upon Cook’s thirty years of experience as
a writer and teacher of creative writing.
