How to donate PPE from ISU research and departmental laboratories: A message from Senior Vice President and Provost Jonathan Wickert

CATEGORIES: Announcements

Dear Colleagues:

As the Iowa State community continues to respond to COVID-19, we have received numerous offers of personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies from research and departmental laboratories. Thank you for your generosity and desire to help.

While these resources are needed, it is equally important that they are identified, inventoried, collected and distributed in an orderly fashion. Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) is creating a “smart sheet” that campus may use to report the PPE they have available for use. This smart sheet is available at:

https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/af87450cfd0542afb14a6351e59dab7b.

Our most critical PPE needs include:
N95 respirators
Surgical masks
Face shields
Disposable gowns
Latex/nitrile gloves
Hand sanitizer
Biological disposable (red) bags
Standard laboratory coats
Safety glasses
Thermometers, non-contact

If you have questions, please contact Bill Diesslin, Associate Director, EH&S, at (515) 294-2105 or wmdiess@iastate.edu.

Thank you again for your generous assistance.

Jonathan Wickert
Senior Vice President and Provost
