Michael Norton, University Counsel, will be leading this discussion focused on the issues of freedom of speech and academic freedom in our contemporary learning environments. We know that statements and materials shared in the classroom can quickly go viral. What types of challenges do instructors face in the classroom, the lab, and other learning environments? How do we distinguish between freedom of speech and academic freedom? What policies, tools, and best practices are available to instructors?
