Leap Year Post!

CATEGORIES: Uncategorized

Leap year only happens every four years so why not celebrate an extra day during the year by doing something special. Here is a list of 5 things that you can do during your extra day.

What you could see if you went to the basketball game!

Attend the last home men’s home basketball game. Iowa State is facing off against Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. This is also senior night so make sure to get there to support our amazing senior basketball players. Attend the Climate Change in the Long Emergency lecture. You can listen to David Orr discuss how he created a carbon neutral plan for his own campus. This is at 8 p.m. in the Memorial Union. Attend a group fitness class at one of the gyms on campus. Iowa State has some great classes that are free for students so why not take advantage of them. You can find an entire article discussing group fitness here and you can also find the schedule here! Try something new! You would not have the time do so during a 365 day year so find the time during your leap day. There are some pretty cool things that you can start such as: scrapbooking, reading for fun, or journaling! The list is endless. Relax! Try to take time for yourself so you can feel refreshed and ready for the rest of the week. Whether it be a nap, watching Netflix, or a trip to one of the cafes on campus this will help you prepare for the rest of the year without wasting one of the other 365 days.
