Iowa State University’s Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps awarded Officer Candidate Chadrick “Chad” Skyberg the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal on Nov. 20, 2015. He was recognized for performing distinguished service during his tour of duty with the Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS), Little Creek, Virginia. He was praised for his hard work and dedication when performing duties as the senior enlisted watch officer.
Skyberg is currently a select participant in the Seaman-to-Admiral (STA 21) Program, which allows enlisted personnel to earn their undergraduate degree and commission as an officer in the United States Navy. He is in his second semester studying meteorology and plans to commission as a Navy Oceanography Officer in May 2018.
