Iowa cave research grant opportunity

The Iowa Grotto – an organization dedicated to the exploration, study and preservation of Iowa caves – is seeking grant applications from graduate students, upper level undergraduates and citizen scientists pursuing research projects focused on Iowa caves and karst.

Scope Research proposals from a range of disciplines indulging cave and karst resource management, cave archaeology, speleology, karst hydrology and cave biology will be considered. The maximum award of $500 will be used for equipment and supplies. All proposals will be peer-reviewed.

Requirements Applicants must submit a clear description of specific aims and a timeline of project tasks including completion date. A final summary of finding, preferable in the form of a peer-reviewed publication, must be submitted to the Iowa Grotto within one year after project completion.

Submission deadline All proposals must be submitted by January 15, 2016 to be considered for the following year.
