“Media: Informants or Enablers?”
At a time of non-stop coverage of Donald Trump, the latest ISIS attacks and domestic shootings, the media’s role in informing the public is becoming increasingly complicated. When does coverage cross the line from being informative to being sensational? Can media coverage be separated from drawing attention to the subjects’ specific agendas? From politics to domestic and international crises, this semester’s Futures Forum will cover industry trends from professionals’ perspectives and explore what role the media should have in informing the public and how you can learn to navigate ethical dilemmas in your career as a communication professional.
