Rupendra Mukerjea recognized with Professional & Scientific Research award

Rupendra Mukerjea, Assistant Scientist, Roy J. Carver Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology has received the 2015 Professional & Scientific Research award.

She will be recognized at the Liberal Arts and Sciences Fall Convocation and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, September 10, at 3:30 p.m. in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union.

Professional & Scientific Research Recognizes professional and scientific staff members for excellence in research:

•   Rupendra Mukerjea, Assistant Scientist, Roy J. Carver Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology. Mukerjea joined the Carbohydrate Research Group, under the direction of Professor John F. Robyt, in 1987. He became involved in suggesting, developing, and executing research projects. This included synthesis, analysis, and application of carbohydrates. Prior to joining the Group, he had experience working in the Pharmaceutical Industry involving the development of analytical methods for determining the value of specific pharamaceuticals. This background gave him the experience for solving problems in many fields, including Carbohydrate Chemistry and Enzymology. He has also helped undergraduate and graduate students, and Post-Doctoral Fellows at ISU, learn new things and how to design, execute, and evaluate the results of research experiments.
