Gustavo MacIntosh named one of three new Biotechnology Council members

Jeffrey Essner, associate professor of genetics, development and cell biology; Aileen Keating, assistant professor of animal science; and Gustavo MacIntosh, associate professor in the Roy J. Carver Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology, have been selected to serve three-year terms on Iowa State University’s Biotechnology Council. The council makes recommendations to the Office of Biotechnology on program activities supporting biotechnology research, education and outreach.

The Biotechnology Council, established in 1984, represents the five academic colleges involved in biotechnology research at Iowa State University: Agriculture and Life Sciences, Engineering, Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. The ten-member Biotechnology Council is chaired by James Reecy, professor of animal science and director of the Office of Biotechnology.
