Support the United Way 2015 campaign at the LAS Bake Sale!

We are gearing up for our fall events supporting the 2015 United Way Campaign.

This year, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will participate in the Kickoff Breakfast and Day of Caring on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015. Last year we had a great turnout and made a big impact on the Campustown area of Ames. This year, we are seeking even more volunteers! Please email Laura Wille ( to participate from 9 a.m.-noon. To register, send her the following information by 3 p.m. TODAY, July 29:

Do you plan to attend the kickoff breakfast (7:30 a.m. at The Plex)? T-shirt size (sizes are unisex, Small to 4XL)

In addition to the Day of Caring, LAS will also host a Bake Sale this fall on the Catt Hall Plaza. The bake sale will be held in conjunction with the LAS Picnic on Thursday, September 3, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. In order for the bake sale to be a success we’ll need plenty of treats. Please email Laura ( to participate in the Bake Sale. Items such as cookies, bars, cakes, scotcheroos, pies, etc are welcome and encouraged!

Finally, we will host our popular College of LAS Online Auction this fall. Items include basketballs and a football signed by Steve Prohm, Bill Fennelly, and Paul Rhoads, respectively. We are looking for more great items! If you have a new/unused item you’d like to donate, or a service to provide (yard work, birthday singing, baking, etc), please email Laura Wille ( Auction dates will be announced in the next newsletter.
