Harrison Barnes, born in Ames, Iowa, is a starter on the Golden State Warriors – the winners of the 2015 NBA championship. Harrison’s mother, Shirley, is a staff member with the Department of Political Science at Iowa State.
Harrison was Grand Marshal for the 2015 Fourth of July parade in Ames, and graciously gave his time for photos. Several staff and faculty from the Department were present for this picture. The Department is grateful to Shirley and to Harrison for making this possible. The Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy is featured on the table directly in front of Harrison.
