Graduating LAS Ambassadors

The Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Ambassadors have eight members graduating in a few days (myself included)!  Here are some fun facts about each graduate including their future plans and their favorite Iowa State memories!

Clarissa Adams

Major: Psychology Minors: Biology and Statistics Honors: National Society of Collegiate Scholars, National Society of Leadership and Success, Psi Chi ISU Involvement: Iowa State Singers, LAS Ambassador, Psychology Club, Psi Chi Secretary Post-Graduation Plans: Work for a year in a psychology-related field, then apply for graduate schools to obtain her Ph. D in Counseling Psychology. Favorite ISU Memory: Every time I’ve sang The Bells of Iowa State with the Iowa State Singers under the direction of Dr. Rodde. Favorite LAS Ambassador Memory: Morning Meetings with Dylan and Kathy.

Majors: Psychology, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Sociology Minors: Russian, Spanish, Anthropology Honors: Summa Cum Laude, ISU Honors Program, Phi Beta Kappa LAS Honor Society, Psi Chi, Cardinal Key ISU Involvement: President of Psi Chi, President of Martin Starbuck, LAS Ambassador Meeting Coordinator, Dance Marathon committee member, ISU fastpitch softball club team, STAR, Psychology Peer Mentor, Athletic Mentor and Tutor, Destination Iowa State Team Leader Post-Graduation Plans: Still seeking employment. Favorite ISU Memory: My favorite memory is storming the football field my freshman year after our victory over the University of Iowa. Favorite LAS Ambassador Memory: My favorite LAS Ambassador memory was walking in the VEISHEA parade my freshman year.  Also, our white elephant social at Kathy’s house this year.

Majors: World Languages and Cultures (Spanish option), International Studies Minor: Music Honors: Phi Beta Kappa LAS Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, National Society of Leadership and Success ISU Involvement: Iowa Statesmen Men’s Choir, Study Abroad, LAS Ambassador Post-Graduation Plans: Looking to move abroad to Valencia, Spain to teach English. Favorite ISU Memory: Studying abroad in Spain in the summers of 2013 and 2014. Favorite LAS Ambassador Memory: Helping with Homecoming, VEISHEA, and Open Option events.

Majors: Psychology, Management ISU Involvement: Vice-President of Recruitment for the Interfraternity Council, Vice-President of Recruitment for FarmHouse fraternity, Psychology Club President, Vice-President, and Treasurer, President of LAS Council Post-Graduation Plans: On the job market/potentially Law School. Favorite ISU Memory: Going on a road trip to watch ISU play basketball in the Big 12 Tournament. Favorite LAS Ambassador Memory: Working with incoming students during the one-on-one visits and sharing all of my experiences.

Majors: Biology Minors: Music Honors: Magna Cum Laude ISU Involvement: LAS Ambassador Meeting Coordinator, Senior Class Council Events committee member, Vice-President of Cantamus Women’s Choir, Freshman Honors Program Co-Leader, Freshman Council Recruitment Co-Chair, STAR, Alpha Delta Pi sorority Director of Standards and Ethics and the Recruitment Information Manager, Yell Like Hell participant and Co-Chair, Varieties participant and Co-Chair. Post-Graduation Plans: I have a part-time job at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas and I am going to be taking classes to become an EMT in the evenings. Favorite ISU Memory: My favorite ISU memory is definitely the year of the Cytennial Homecoming and is tied with the many events we hosted as the senior class council. Favorite LAS Ambassador Memory: My favorite LAS ambassador memory was the scavenger hunt we did along with our morning meeting questionnaires. I also enjoyed helping out with the pre-med/pre-health talks that Dylan would have in the afternoons.

Majors: Economics, French ISU Involvement: Collegiate Panhellenic Council Vice-President of Finance, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority Fiance Deputy and Greek Week Co-Chair, LAS Ambassador Post-Graduation Plans: Actively exploring my job options, you could say. Favorite ISU Memory: College Game Day visiting for the Kansas basketball game, and then winning the game. Hilton Magic 🙂 Favorite LAS Ambassador Memory: Having lunch with a family and then having the girl tell me she wanted to come Iowa State over Iowa.

Majors: Journalism & Mass Communications, International Studies Minor: Statistics ISU Involvement: LAS Ambassador Media Coordinator, Orchesis II Dance Club Publicity Chair, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority New Member Educator, Lip Sync Co-Chair, Varieties Co-Chair, Collegiate Panhellenic Council Recruitment Counselor, ISUtv Anchor, Study Abroad Post-Graduation Plans: Moving back to my hometown to work as the Internet Director for WGEM, the NBC-affiliate in Quincy, IL. Favorite ISU Memory: There are too many!  So I will blog about them at a later point. 🙂 Favorite LAS Ambassador Memory: Helping to create and manage the LAS student blog and working with prospective students during open option sessions.  Specifically this one session where I was told after by a parent that it was the best college visit they had attended!

Dani Schroeder

Majors: Psychology, Linguistics Minor: Spanish Honors: President of The National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society ISU Involvement: Linguistics Club Vice-President, LAS Ambassador Post-Graduation Plans: I will be entering the Master of Speech-Language Pathology program at Saint Ambrose University in the Fall. Favorite ISU Memory: Tailgating with friends and family and watching the Cyclones in Jack Trice Stadium. Favorite LAS Ambassador Memory: Talking with all of the prospective students at the Open Option visits. Answering their questions and telling them how much I love Iowa State!
