From the Dean: There is still time to give to United Way of Story County

CATEGORIES: Uncategorized

Dear College of Liberal Arts and Sciences faculty and staff,

There is still time to give to United Way of Story County and make a positive difference in our community! Even though the campaign formally ended on October 15, UWSC will gratefully continue to accept donations and count them towards our campaign goal.

At this time, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has raised $29,970 towards our goal of $35,500, meaning that we are at 84% of our goal. Our participation rate is 8%, i.e., only 8% of all LAS employees have contributed so far. I challenge you to help the college increase its participation rate and reach our goal. We are $5,530 short of our goal. If 55 people donate $100 each, we can celebrate! If 110 people give $50 each, we can also celebrate! And if lots of people give however much they are comfortable with, children and families in our community will be better for it.

Please read about all the ways UWSC helps our colleagues and neighbors, at the United Way of Story County website.

If you would like to designate your donation to specific agencies or exclude agencies that you do not wish to support, complete the Donor Choice Form. Please note: a minimum of $50 per designee is required to process the designations. If you have misplaced your United Way envelope, contact Laura Wille (lge@iastate.edu).

With my sincere thanks and very best wishes, Beate

Beate Schmittmann Dean, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Iowa State University
