The third and final blog appearing in the online version of the journal Discover, Alan Wanamaker of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and other researchers including Iowa State students still seek their elusive catch off the northern coast of Norway: the Arctica islandica clam, the oldest living multicellular animal in the world, from deep water.

Wanamaker, a paleoclimatologist and assistant professor in the Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences, hopes these clams will shed more light on past weather events.

Wanamaker holds the David Morehouse Faculty Fellowship in the College of LAS.
