“We had a great time at the picnic last year, and look forward to welcoming LAS students back to campus again this fall,” said Beate Schmittmann, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Dean Schmittmann, associate deans, department chairs, advisers and members of the dean’s staff in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will serve free pizza, ice cream and pop to the LAS students. Student clubs and organizations will have interactive displays, and students can collect stamps to enter into a drawing for Iowa State Book Store gift cards.

At the college’s selfie booth, students can tweet a photo with Catt Hall in the background and use the hashtag “#LAScollege” for another chance to win a gift card. Shy of a Dozen – Iowa State’s award winning a cappella ensemble – and the ISU Drumline will perform at the event.

The LAS Student Picnic is an opportunity for Liberal Arts and Sciences students to interact with each other and make new friends. LAS students will receive an email in their ISU account with a ticket to present at the picnic.

In the case of bad weather, the picnic will be moved inside to 302 and 353 Catt Hall.
