They are five "young" College of Liberal Arts and Sciences alumni who have been honored as 2014 STATEment Makers by the ISU Alumni Association.

STATEment Makers – ISU grads no older than 32 – are recognized for their early personal and professional accomplishments and contributions to society.

The LAS alums are Mohammed Alabsi (MS ’07 computer science), Maria Schwamman Charbonneaux (’07 journalism), Cathy Compton (’08 music education), Louis Kishkunas (’06 political science) and Molly Lynch Murphy (’04 journalism). In all, 17 Iowa State alumni received the 2014 award.

Each of the ISU grads has a fascinating story, all of which are worth reading on the Alumni Association website.
