Catt Center’s Hennings to receive Margaret Sloss Gender Equity Award

Valerie Hennings, scholar-in-residence at the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics, will receive a Margaret Sloss Gender Equity Award March 25 at a reception in the Union’s Campanile Room. The award goes to individuals to recognize their commitment to helping women gain equity at ISU.

According to Catt Center director Dianne Bystrom, Valerie "has greatly contributed to our students’ awareness of gender and diversity issues as a faculty member teaching such courses as Women in Politics and also Women and Leadership." Valerie also has been involved in projects and initiatives encouraging women to seek elected and appointed offices.
