Iowa State University students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with representatives of businesses and non-profit groups at two career fairs in February.

The People to People Career Fair will be Monday, Feb 10, 1-5 p.m. at the Scheman Building. Students can meet representatives from about 85 employers in human and social services, education, hospitality, and health and wellness. The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the College of Human Sciences host the event.

The Business, Industry and Technology Career Fair will host about 160 employers on Wednesday, Feb. 12, noon-6 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. It is sponsored by the College of LAS, College of Human Sciences and the College of Business.

"Students can expect a professional environment in which to connect with employers seeking Iowa State students for internships and full-time employment," Taren Crow, director of Liberal Arts and Sciences Career Services said. "Between the two fairs, students will see a wide variety of employers and many who are new to career fairs at Iowa State."

In the spring semester one year ago, 1,600 ISU students attended the Business, Industry and Technology Career Fair and 600 students attended the People to People event, which took place during a blizzard, Crow said. The two career fairs are also scheduled in the fall semester.
